Foundational Skills for Systems Engineers in 2030

Abstract:
While modeling has always been an essential part of systems engineering, Model-Based Engineering is bringing radical change to systems engineering practice. At the same time, other forces and trends are at work, moving the focus of MBSE from the internal structure of the system towards the external environment, from modeling objects to modeling people and organizations, and from a view of modeling as a tool to becoming the framework of systems engineering itself.
