On the eigenvalues of large structured matrices and the scalable stability of networks
Abstract:
A class of scalable stability results for interconnections of linear dynamical systems depend ultimately on tools for locating the eigenvalues of large structured matrices using only local information. This talk will summarise some existing results in this area and introduce some open problems.
Biography:Glenn Vinnicombe grauated with an BA in Engineering from Cambridge in 1984. From 1984 to 1987 he was with British Aerospace, working primarily on the design and flight test of control systems on the Airbus A320. He returned to Cambridge in 1987 as a College Lecturer at Churchill College, obtaining the PhD degree in 1992. After briefly holding Faculty positions at the University of Minnesota and Imperial College, he returned to Cambridge again in 1995, where he is now a Lecturer in the Department of Engineering.
