Robotic Grasping: A Scale of Biomimetic Solutions
Patrick van der Smagt, DLR
Abstract:
Despite long-lasting efforts to build "intelligent robots", even the most advanced modern robotic systems are still far away from their biological counterparts. We study human movement from kinematic, dynamic, musculoskeletal and neurological perspectives, in order to provide robotics with answers to noncomputable questions. In this talk will discuss computational models of the human extremity movement, and suggest where robotics might move next.
