LCCC Focus Periods
An LCCC focus period extends over five weeks with a 3-day workshop in the middle. The research theme is chosen strategically to support the vision of a LCCC, usually with a cross-disciplinary perspective. An international scientific committee is responsible for the program. About 20-25 speakers are invited for the workshop, selected for excellence and for an optimal coverage of the theme. The speakers are encouraged to extend their stay beyond the workshop. In addition, excellent young researchers are invited to stay as visiting scholars and to give research seminars during the focus period. Altogether, offices and accommodation for ten researchers are provided by LCCC during the five weeks.
